I need to explore this more before commenting on it further. I suppose that it may be possible to do something in DNS since the Device URI provided from Connect is the email alias. I am not done exploring that option, but what I have tried thus far didn't change observed behavior. I also tinkered with the VCS cluster integration on WebEx Connect (in an effort to be a trickster). The config is accepted and populated in the WebEx Connect contact in my Jabber client, but it doesn't change dialing behavior. For instance, I tried modifying contact numbers in WebEx Connect to use URIs. This URI is obviously different than the Jabber Video for TelePresence I was testing with the Business Edition of Connect, I tried a few things. It appears that this attribute is being populated by my Email domain suffix. From the Jabber client I can "click" the call button but it wants to use the URI associated to the Device attribute of my WebEx Connect contact. The primary consideration (at least from my testing) is that I was unable to originate a call to a contact added from WebEx Connect nor could I escalate a call from an IM chat. We won't be exploring this config approach today, but we will in a later installment. In this mode, WebEx Connect accounts can be provisioned to use CUCM or Cisco Video Communications Server (VCS) for call processing. It is worth noting that y ou can use WebEx Connect with the Company-Provided Account option as well. With the Individual Account option you can use valid accounts for WebEx Connect, Jabber Video for TelePresence, or both. So, our focus at the moment is on setting up the Jabber client using the Individual Account settings as opposed to the Company-Provided Account option. More information about this offering can be found at the Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence beta program page. There are clients for Windows, Mac, and (of course) the iPad. It is a free service that is presently (in the beta version, anyway) open to anyone. So, my assumption is that since Jabber clients are XMPP-based, the Guest Edition won't work in our scenario.Ĭisco's Jabber Video for TelePresence is a relatively new offering that is intended to provide desktop, software-based video services to the masses. After exploring it a little deeper I found out that the Guest Edition is one full rev behind the Business Edition WebEx Connect and it is based on the AIM proprietary standard for IM/Presence. Since we are looking at provisioning using the Individual Account option, I did look at using the Guest Edition. You can see a handy-dandy chart comparing the two versions here. There are two WebEx Connect editions available: Guest Edition and Business Edition. You can read more about this offering on Cisco's WebEx Connect product page. It is basically position as a cloud-based IM/Presence solution, with some file sharing/collaboration elements (called "Spaces") thrown in. It has been an available service for several years and I have used it on and off since 2009 (?). The WebEx Connect service is obviously a WebEx application and it came over to Cisco as part of that acquisition. For those that are not familiar with the WebEx Connect or hosted services, let's do a quick overview. ![]()

That the Geckos are less memorable than their hitmen successors (or, given the wonky timeline, is it predecessors?) arguably has less to do with Tarantino’s writing, and more to do with the performers inhabiting them. It’s not difficult to see the pair of criminal brothers as prototypes for Jules and Vincent in Pulp Fiction: an unlikely male duo who are prone to violence, fond of quips and diatribes, and prone to shoot first and ask questions later (see also: the leads of both of Tarantino’s other non-directorial screenplays, Tony Scott’s True Romance and Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers). ![]() This is particularly true of the Gecko brothers, Dusk’s quote/unquote protagonists. And, of course, it includes two distinct visual cues to his toe fetish, and his love of disreputable male protagonists with whom the audience is meant to sympathize and possibly even fall in love with. As a result Dusk is the historically relevant film where Tarantino can be seen cutting his teeth. This discontinuity makes sense: Dusk was commissioned before Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, but it didn’t go into production until long afterwards. Both the dialogue and the scenario lack the polish that is evident in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, two films that were released four and two years earlier. Watching From Dusk Till Dawn can induce a strange time-loop effect. As we now know, that film went on to launch Tarantino’s career. The money enabled Tarantino to quit his job and focus on his feature directorial debut, 1992’s Reservoir Dogs, for which KNB did makeup effects for free. In the year 1882, both were jointly honored the Davy Medal by the Royal Society of London for their contributions to the periodic table. This is the primary reason why most people give the first credit to Mendeleev, not Meyer, for the development of the periodic table. Meyer predicted the existence of undiscovered elements but did not elaborate on the properties of unknown elements, which Mendeleev did. It got published in 1870, one year after Mendeleev published his table. Meyer drafted his final version of the table in 1868. The table was superior to any of its predecessors since it categorized the elements by their valencies. In 1862, he started working on his book Die modernen Theorien der Chemie, which described the first version of his periodic table. His early education was centered on pathology and medicine. ![]() Julius Lothar Meyer was born to Friedrich Meyer, who was a physician, and Anna Biermann in Varel, Germany. The above table is taken from Meyer's paper published in Annalen der Chemie, Supplementband (1870). This table was the transpose of his 1964's table, i.e., the rows were turned into columns and the columns into the rows. In this table, he incorporated additional elements, particularly transition metals known at that time. ![]() He published the finalized version of his periodic table in 1870. A combination of 300 blackout subsonic rounds and a suppressor device means being able to retain all your senses in an outdoor environment while even dumping your magazine - includes the added benefit of not disturbing others within the area. These advantages are powerful features of subsonic rounds and are made the most effective when applied with a suppressor device. Subsonic 300 Blackout holds more power than 9×19mm while retaining equal ratings of decibel while suppressed. Subsonic rounds hold two advantages over supersonic rounds: quietness and less recoil. These two factors make suppressed supersonic rounds very effective and an attractive choice in confined close quarter environments. Additionally, the lighter recoil also allows users to make faster hits on target in succession. A heavier grain, typically around 180-220 grains, introduces more weight to the projectile, preventing the bullet from exceeding speeds that would break the sound barrier like a supersonic round normally would. Depending on the load, some 300 blackout subsonic rounds are quiet enough to comfortably use without ear protection. The loudest factors from using suppressed subsonic ammunition comes from the sound of the bullet impact and the bolt carrier group cycling back and forth (when using AR platforms). Subsonic rounds hold one key advantage, they run really quiet when suppressed. A bullet traveling at higher speed means more energy that can be transferred to the target upon impact, more effective range, more tolerance to drop and wind drift. They are also more likely to be available than subsonic round stocks. As supersonic ammo means using a lighter-weight grain (typically less than 180 grain), they’re no doubt the less expensive choice of rounds to train and plink with. Supersonic rounds are the standard rounds most shooters are familiar with as they are the more practical rounds for most applications compared to subsonic rounds. Interested in picking up your own suppressor device? 300 Blackout Supersonic If you do plan on shooting suppressed or aiming at targets within short distances then proceed with the 300 blackout platform. If not, and you need to hit targets at distances past 3-400 yards then opting to shoot 5.56 NATO instead will save yourself some money. The first question to consider before you ask if you ought to use 300 blackout supersonic vs subsonic is whether or not you plan on shooting suppressed. The industry standard for supersonic ammunition is set at around 1,100 feet per second at sea level under standard conditions. The difference between subsonic rounds and supersonic rounds, as implied by their etymology, remain in their ability to break the sound barrier - determined by how fast the projectile travels. For those 'go loud' engagements you could opt for supersonic rounds to take the ballistic advantage of full power rounds. You could run with subsonic rounds for quiet engagements while equipped with a suppressor to maintain the element of surprise and your hearing. 300 Blackout’s greatest edge is the seamless ability for rifles chambered in this caliber to efficiently transition between subsonic ammo and supersonic ammo. ![]() 30 caliber projectiles with a greater muzzle velocity than 7.62x39 mm which creates a larger wound cavity. 300 BLK excels greatly with short barrels (barrels as short as 9 inches) and dispenses. ![]() Designed for the purpose of close quarter combat for Special Forces. 300 Blackout is an intermediate caliber that performs with a better ballistic capability than 5.56x45mm while retaining the same round capacity using a standard M4 magazine. ![]() ![]() ![]() While defining Aha-moment, the accent is made on simplicity.
